My grandson had a Christmas elf who did all the same things as Gaddelpo, so this story brought back lots of wonderful memories and sneaky tricks we pulled for years. I think all children (and most adults) would enjoy this story any time of year. Our "Jingles" came on Thanksgiving night and stayed until Christmas night, then he got an extension to New Year's Day. It was a wonderful bonding experience for all of us. Any family with small children should read your book, see how to use an elf, find one (ours was from Hallmark, if permissible to say that), and let the memories begin. My daughter and I enjoyed reading this book also far from Christmas time. The story it is well pictured and funny written.

Ally is not sure that she believes in Santa Claus anymore. Gaddelpo is employed to keep the Christmas spirit alive in her heart. How is he going to do this? Deer prints on the roof? Sooty footprints around the hearth? Jingle bells outside her window on Christmas morning? You'll have to purchase the book to see what Gaddelpo finally decides to do )
